My name is Metztli Lopez Torres and I’m a Mexican sobadora, doula, childbirth and lactation educator, anthropologist, feminist, mom, sister, daughter, friend, advocate of women’s rights and environmentalist.

My story started with my experience during my first pregnancy while I was living in Mexico. I learned to use traditional medicine like herbs, massages and food to heal my baby and myself….

Postpartum Doula and Owner of Night Owl Doula

A San Diego native, I have over a decade of experience working with children of all ages. After moving to Texas in 2010 and giving birth to two girls of my own, I quickly realized that the postpartum period was rougher than the world gives it credit for. It wasn’t until 2015 that becoming a Doula became a possibility and that’s when I realized that I could give others the dream postpartum period that I wished I had. After my training in May of 2016, I started Nite Owl Postpartum Doula,  Now, four years later I have provided more than fifty families with the much needed support they deserve. I look forward to meeting you and helping you achieve the postpartum experience that you deserve!

I’ve worked with many families who’ve struggled with fertility and supported them through all kinds of treatments and surrogacy…
